I started my working life as a carpenter in rural areas surrounding Melbourne. The builder I trained with had quite a diverse business — it included building new homes, stitch frame kitchens and constructing caravans — so I was quite well versed in all types of carpentry. I loved it and thought I would be there forever, but life takes you down paths you don’t expect and I came to South Australia for family reasons.
I had no job but had a few contacts and one of these suggested I contact a company that did exhibitions and events who were constantly looking for people as it is a 24/7 industry with a lot of burnout. I went down this path and never looked back. A short stint while looking for a real carpenter job turned into 23 years in the events and exhibition industry, exhibitions were perfectly suited to my skill set, creative license to interpret clients brief and bring it to life.
After 23 years I was made an offer too good to refuse to go back into the building industry where I started. I didn’t regret the move but I did miss in particular the wedding and events it’s an industry where you can help create the perfect setting the perfect day and happy memories forever.
Over the past 12 years I had been approached several times about returning to the events industry, I always thought I would return, but it was never the right person asking or the right time. Out the blue and totally unexpected the question came from a person that I love and respect so much, it took less than a millisecond to say “yes let’s do it”.
For the past twelve months we have done nothing but investigate, create and manufacture several ranges of wedding and event props for hire.
We spent a long time just looking at what is on offer and thought the one consistant thing that stood out is there are no entire ranges that are matching in colour and style. We wanted to change this.
We also wanted to have some wow, everybody would say look on line for inspiration and so we did just that and what we found was all the really wow items are not available in SA or for that matter Australia unless they were custom built at great expense.
We want to be the go to place where service and quality is our only aim, we have an “ask and it shall be done” attitude, if we don’t have it we will make it or get it. We will always be adding to and improving our stock. Another major aim is to offer custom design manufacturing so that clients wishes and dreams can become reality.
We are serious about service and quality, we won’t cut corners and will do whatever it takes to have our products the best they can possibly be to make your event special. If for any reason we fail to meet your expectations we want your feedback, so we may learn and improve, client satisfaction is top of our list.
We understand the importance of the environment so when manufacturing we use wherever possible recycled timber and new timber and plywood panels from renewable forests. We are plastic free!
